Yikes! My first blog post. I might as well be up front and start off with a disclaimer: I am not the most tech-savvy person so my first few posts may be a little rocky (read: they may look like the cat posted them while high on catnip). I started setting up this blog in April and am just now figuring my way around it…five months later. So, there, you get the picture. Don’t judge.
I’ve decided to include a photo of my craft room in my first post because this is one of my favorite spots. When I have free time, this is usually where I’ll be…in my beautiful room crafting my little heart out. Of course my room isn’t always this neat – this photo was taken just after I got the room set up a few months after moving into our new home. I’m lucky to have an entire dedicated room – it’s a dream come true. My craft of choice is rubber stamping and cardmaking but I also like other paper arts too including mixed media and scrapbooking. Although my husband and son don’t bother me too much when I’m in here, the animals are a different story. No matter where I am in the house, following closely behind are my two little sidekicks Piper, my Pomeranian of ten years, and our two-year old Maine Coon kitty named Daphne. They kind of look alike, huh? They’re about the same size but the cat outweighs the dog by about 4 pounds. Piper and Daphne are buddies and both love hanging out with me in my craft room. My husband and son actually get a little jealous because the animals follow me around like I’m the Pied Piper. Heehee.
I’ve been part of the Splitcoast Stampers community for over 12 years – you can take a look at my on-line gallery above – and I just finished a six-month stint as a member of the Dirty Dozen Design Team and am forever a Dirty Girl! I finally took the plunge and started a blog because I thought it would be a fun way to be part of the stamping/crafting community on another level. It’s just one more way for me to share what I love doing so much. It’s my God-given talent and I am proud to share it with whomever may be interested. If one person is able to find inspiration from my work or if I post something that teaches someone something new, then kudos to both of us!
