Another Week Wrapped Up

I don’t know about you but I live for the weekends. I get more done in those 48 hours than I do all week. After working all day I’m too pooped to do anything. Once I get home, I’m home.  I rarely go back out. I try to get a little crafty time in here and there during the week, but with it still getting dark out at 6:00 it feels like 9:30 and my energy level is drained. One of the things I do like to do is catch up on blogs and tutorials during the week. I keep track of the challenges on a tracking sheet I created then I do some or all of the challenges on Friday night or Saturday.

So, here we are at the end of the week – I only made two cards for three challenges this week.  I’m having house guests next week so I spent a good time Saturday straightening my craft room as my BFF and I will be spending some time in there during her visit.  Today I had a dear friend and her 87 year old mother over for dinner and games. Fun times.

First up is this cutie…

Otterly Adorable

I used the colors from this weeks Color Throwdown [ctd430]: Turquoise,  Sage Green,  Kraft/Gold,  and Dark Brown.

I used SU! cardstock in Tempting Turquoise and Sage Shadow for the waves which were cut out using MFT Die-namics. MFT cardstock in Kraft and Smooth White make up the card bases.  I colored the adorable sea otter (from MFT’s Otterly Love You) with Copic markers and popped him up with foam tape so it looks as though he’s bobbing in the waves.

CTD430 was combined with this weeks Freshly Made Sketche 275.

Next, is this purr-fectly content kitty from My Favorite Things Cool Cat set.

Pretty Kitty

I used MFT color challenge combo #63: Coral Crush, Peach Bellini, Spearmint and Green Eyed Monster.

I made a one layer card – well, two if you count the matting. I did some masking on the kitty and her little pet bed then used a Clarity stencil brush to stencil on the color in the background. I used MFT Peach bellini, Coral Crush and Spearmint premium dye inks. The kitty and bed were colored with Copic markers. The light sucks in my room once it gets dark out. I asked for a light box for my birthday (which is next week) so hopefully better photos are on the horizon.

As always, thanks for stopping by.
